Michelle Newhart, PhD, works as an instructional designer at Mt. San Antonio College. A contributor to more than a dozen nonfiction books as author or editor, Newhart holds a BA in sociology from the University of Missouri and an MA and PhD in sociology from the University of Colorado Boulder. She is the coauthor of Understanding Research Methods (10th Ed.) and The Medicalization of Marijuana, both from Routledge. Previously, she has worked developing content for Cengage and taught sociology at University of Colorado, Boulder.
