I am a postdoc at NC state university. I had research experiences both in academic and industry side. My expertise includes metal-catalyzed reaction, phosphorous chemistry, and macrocyclic rings. I did my PhD on metal catalysed (Cu and Pd) and allene based reactions. I focused mainly on two concepts, one is a dual role of metal [Cu] in two different kinds of reactions in one pot and allenes in cyclization reactions to form various heterocyclics. I experienced the chemistry of metals in organic synthesis and also handled plenty of moisture sensitive reactions and compounds. Later, I worked in an industry (GVK Biosciences) for 16 months. The work involved the synthesis of various medicinal and agrochemical important molecules. In one of the project, synthesized more than 150 g having multiple linear steps. At present I am a post-doc at NC state university in the USA, working on macrocyclic rings (chlorins, bacteriochlorins). I am designing a versatile route to some of the unexplored bacteriochlorins having water-soluble groups, bio-tethers and wavelength tuning groups in one molecule, which are applicable in PDT. My part-time hobby is giving lectures to the school children’s on chemistry in daily life
