I advise and write about responsible development of emerging technologies in their societal context emphasizing ethical aspects. Education: graduated in physics (Utrecht University, 1991); PhD in philosophy (Radboud University, Nijmegen, 2011) (thesis: Ethics and Nanotechnology; Responsible development of nanotechnology at global level in the 21st century); I have been involved in EU funded projects on responsible development of emerging technologies since 2002, and am currently engaged in the Nano2all project www.nano2all.eu. I have published articles and contributed to books for a variety of audiences including scientists, professionals and lay persons about ethical and responsible development of nanotechnology and other emerging technologies.
