Currently working at Nanyang Technological University as a Senior Research Fellow. My research work focuses on structural and functional studies of ligand-gated ion channels using cryo-Electron Microscopy. In past, I have worked on proteins involved in mitochondrial fusion in Ramachandran's laboratory at Case Western Reserve University. My Ph.D. research work involved the characterization of adenylyl cyclase proteins using X-ray crystallography. I have more than 10 years of experience in structural biology and I am working on cryo-EM for the past four years. I have 2 years of teaching experience. My skills involve protein expression and purification using bacteria and eukaryotic cell culture system, protein characterization using biochemical assays, CD, ITC, FRET, Microscale Thermophoresis, X-ray crystallography, Cryo-EM, etc. I have studied lipid and lipid membrane (liposome, nanodisc)protein interaction using MST and FRET and confocal microscopy. I have extensively used software used for x-ray crystallography and cryo-EM. I am an advanced Linux OS user. I have mentored several junior members of my current and past lab and I consider myself a highly motivated person who loves working in a team.
