​I was a full-time academic at the University of York for nine years from 2008 - 2017. After completing my PhD in 2013 I lectured for four years in research methods (specialising in quantitative methods) at both Undergraduate and Postgraduate levels in the Sociology Department at York. I have extensive experience using a variety of methods to address many different research challenges, and in teaching these skills to groups and individuals. I have worked on research projects with individuals and organisations from different backgrounds including academics from a number of disciplinary departments (Sociology, Health Sciences, Management, more) and many institutions (York, Goldsmiths, LSE, Warwick, more); professionals across industries (e.g. wind farm construction professionals, training evaluation organisations); NHS researchers and practitioners (Epidemiologists, neurologists, and administrators at Harrogate, Sheffield hospitals); Advocacy organisations (e.g. The Royal Commonwealth Society; Citizens Advice). I currently hold the title of Honorary Fellow in Sociology at York and my department has been rated #1 in the country in the last two Research Excellence exercises.
