Environmental Researcher & GIS Specialist with expertise in Land Use Change Modelling and Ecological Data Analysis

I am an environmental researcher and GIS specialist with over seven years of research experience in landscape ecology, land use and land cover change modelling, biodiversity assessment, and ecosystem dynamics in the Eastern Himalayas. I hold an M.Sc. in Natural Resource Management and have recently submitted my Ph.D. thesis in Environmental Science at Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, New Delhi, with my viva voce pending. My doctoral research focused on multi-temporal LULC analysis (2004–2024) using Landsat imagery to assess forest cover change in Kamjong District, Eastern Himalayas. I developed spatial models including logistic regression to identify drivers of forest degradation and recovery, and generated spatial probability, risk, and recovery maps to support restoration and land management planning. I also assessed soil nutrient dynamics including SOC, N, P, and K across shifting agricultural fallow systems and conducted vegetation surveys to evaluate ecosystem structure and function. Prior to my PhD, I served as a Junior Research Fellow on an NMHS-funded project under the GB Pant National Institute of Himalayan Environment, MoEFCC, Government of India, where I conducted ecological field surveys, biodiversity assessments, and GIS-based environmental analysis across indigenous communities in Northeast India. I also documented traditional land management practices and indigenous knowledge through participatory community engagement. My technical skills include ArcGIS, QGIS, R, Landsat image analysis, LULC change modelling, logistic regression, spatial data analysis, and scientific manuscript preparation. I have published peer-reviewed research in soil science, ethnobotany, environmental monitoring, and land use, and am experienced in technical report writing, literature review, and ecological data interpretation. I am available for projects in environmental research, ecological data analysis, GIS and remote sensing analysis, scientific writing and editing, literature reviews, and technical report preparation.
