First time I realized science was my cup of tea? Making actual nitroglycerin in my garage at 17. I graduated with flying colors in Biotechnology (B.sc.) and Molecular Biotechnology (M.sc) in less then 5 years. My interest in improving one's life rbrought me to work on gene replacement therapy during my bachelor's and part of the Master's. After joining the Sanger Institute and getting to know CRISPR/Cas9 strategies, I decided that for my PhD I would combine my obsession for bench-to-bed-side research with this revolutionary technique. Therefore, I started my PhD within a Marie Curie ITN at the University Hospital Tübingen, where I apply CRISPR/Cas9 to the rescue of deep-intronic variants. Long-term career goal? To bring actual innovative therapies to patients. I am an enthusiastic, motivated and experienced early-stage scientist. I am open to brain storming focused on pushing scientific boundaries, discussion of new ideas, suggestion on best experimental designs, helping with writing (whether it's a paper, a proposal or your thesis)...
