I received the Ph.D. in control and electrical engineering from the University of Pisa, Italy, in 2017. I am currently a Teaching Fellow at the Dyson School of Design Engineering, Imperial College London and a Research Scientist at the IOTA Foundation. My research interests include mathematical modelling, control theory, distributed ledger technologies and the sharing economy. I work closely with a number of research teams within IOTA, primarily on topics related to networking (I am part of the team that designed the current rate control algorithm, Shimmer), compliance, sharding and Smart Contracts.
