My core expertise is in transcriptomics, genetics, and molecular biology. I have thorough experience in NGS analyses, using standard Bioinformatics software, and can also develop custom scripts/pipelines. I have 3+ years of coding experience in R, Python, bash, and working on a UNIX-based high-performance computing environment. I have also experience in working with APIs - I have made a few tools for Twitter that are available on my Github. My scientific communication abilities encompass academic writing (through publications and conference papers) and science communication, meant for the general audience and policymakers. I love science communication! I have designed projects for science communication for my university's open days and science festival. I was actively involved with the Pint of Science, UK to develop and launch events for science communication. This also included promoting research and events through written channels and social media. I have also delivered my own materials at Soapbox Science, UK. In addition, I have communicated science by writing for my university's blog website. Moreover, I was also actively involved with my university's Science in Policy group. Working with this group, I received the opportunity to hone my skills to draft POSTNotes for UK parliamentarians. I have taken Editing Masterclass with Nature and Cactus Communications. I served as an editor for ASHA for Education, Sheffield Chapter society's bimonthly newsletter for two years. I had also assisted as a copywriter in the drafting of National Action Plans for bear conservation by the Ministry of Environment & Forests, Government of India.
