I study the fluid mechanics of systems which range from droplets to insects, birds and aircraft. My professional philosophy is collaborative research. I have collaborated with experimentalists to analyze flapping flight. Recently, I have studied the transmission of signals which modulate the behaviors of leaders and followers in collective migration. I have used MATLAB and TecPlot to implement both basic and advanced dimensionality reduction algorithms such as principal components analysis and dynamic mode decomposition (also known as auto-encoding in machine learning). I have developed user-defined functions in C to automate Ansys. I have familiarity with image analysis and Python-based TensorFlow platform.
