Pulmonary physiology research scientist studying inflammation in pulmonary microvessels. My primary focus has been studying the expansion of pulmonary microvascular inflammation through confocal microscopy experiments utilizing isolated blood-perfused rodent lungs. -Intravital/ex vivo imaging studies of autologous blood-perfused rat and mouse lungs using confocal and wide-angle microscopy -In vitro gene knockdown of isolated pulmonary microvascular endothelial cells (PMVECs) -Isolation and culture of primary PMVECs -Delivery of fluorophores and reagents via micropuncture directly into single alveoli or microvessels in intact lung -PCR and development of transgenic mice genotype database (Microsoft Access) -Mouse breeding and surgery -Manuscript writing/editing and figure design
