Dr Thakore is an established visionary leader providing strategic direction to a worldwide networking platform focused on mainstreaming climate adaptation and mitigation approaches, and co-creating sustainable, resilient and equitable futures. She possesses 25+ years of demonstrable experience, aggregated through working with both academic and non-academic actors, at both local and global levels on the Asian, European, South American and African continents, and beyond, including engagements with organisations like the European Union, African Union, UN agencies, and international communities and universities amongst others. 17 years’ experience in climate change adaptation, including waste, energy, environment, carbon, supply chain, life cycle, and biodiversity management, and circular economy. 3 years’ experience in agriculture, demonstrated through an initiative – Communities Carbon Calculators to develop eco-friendly/cleaner consumption and production system that is more productive, profitable, resource-efficient (i.e., efficient use of energy, water, and carbon-based inputs), environmentally safer, balanced gender, accessible and inclusive of everyone, and resilient. Specifically, her skill-set is in the following areas: ■ Influential international leadership in climate change – Leading worldwide network of 7000+ coordinators from 170 countries, with core objective of creating a strong leadership through capacity building, mobilisation and engagement, building a community of practice, and producing a critical mass of good practices.
