Ph.D. level Biochemist and Molecular biologist During his graduate and postgraduate studies, Dr. Geyer investigated membrane protein structure and activity and the role these proteins have on human physiological processes. He also has a fond interest in learning about the use of microorganisms/proteins/enzymes (wild-type or mutants) for industrial/medical purposes, rational drug design and high throughput screening. About three years ago, he retired his pipettes and began focusing on a career as a scientific consultant/writer/editor. Day-to-day activities include scientific content editing and writing, secondary research, literature database construction and Portuguese to English translation for medical doctors, researchers and entrepreneurs.
