DR. Shimaa M.Y., MSc. (2008), M.D., Ph.D. in medical Physiology (2013); has about 20 years of experience of teaching practical and theoretical medical physiology for under- and postgraduate medical and paramedical students, at physiology department, Faculty of Medicine, Suez Canal University (2013:2019) and Physiology Department, Faculty of Medicine, Rabigh Branch, King Abdulaziz University (2019: 2024). Currently, I am an assistant professor of Medical Physiology, King Abdulaziz University, Rabigh, Saudi Arabia (2019: 2022). Previously, has taught physiology to the first year students in Faculty of Dentistry, Suez Canal University (2015: 2018). A former member, in the Objective Structured Practical Evaluation (OSPE) committee, for the 1st year students; (2018). A Seminar Co-coordinator, for the 2nd year (2015-2018). A former member of Team-Based Learning Committee; (2018). A membr in the Quality Assurance Unit and Student Scientific Resesearch and Creativity Unit, KAU, Rabigh (2021-2022). Shimaa is currently a member in Neuroscience and Geroscience Unit in King Fahd Reserch center, King Abdulaziz University, Saudi Arabia. A member in the Student Activity Unit that provide community services (2021: 2023). She supervised two MD & two MS.c., discussed one MS.c. thesis theses on medical physiology and worked in many research teams. Shimaa Supervised many students research teams that ended by publications in indexed journals. She shared in national and international conferences and workshops as a speaker or Attendee. Shimaa has 7 national, 19 international publications in indexed journals and 3 book chapters. She has many international conference and scientific days publications in the field of neuro- and electro-physiology including: in London (2014), in Turkey (2012), in Saudi Arabia (2021, 2023), and the virtual Symposium of the African Society of Physiological Sciences (2021). She has PROFESSIONAL CONTRIBUTIONS in improving physiology teaching and research practice include: - The IDEA ELLABORATOR and CO-ORDINATOR of the "1st, 2nd and 3rd physiology days", in the Faculty of Medicine, Rabigh, King Abdulaziz University (2021, 2022 and 2023). - The CO-ORDINATOR of the "First physiology day", in the Faculty of Medicine, SCU, which has been held on 2/3/2019. - The Elaborator of the idea & a Main Team member for CONSTRUCTING the EXPERIMENTAL NEUROSCIENCE LABORATORY in the Physiology Department, Faculty of Medicine, Suez Canal University (2018-2019), - The ELABORATORT of the IDEA & the CO-ORDINATOR of the "First experimental neurobehavioral workshop of physiology department, a step toward integrating basic & clinical research"; (7-9-2019). - The CO-ORDINTOR of "Second experimental neurobehavioral workshop of physiology department, a step toward integrating basic & clinical research", (26-10-2019). - Awarded from KAU-Rabigh for Excellence in community service and student activity supervision (2022). - Awarded from KAU-Rabigh branch in 2022 for the Research Efforts and Innovation. - Awarded from SCU in 2020-2021 for the Excellence in scientific publishing. - A member in the in MULTIDISCIPLINARY RESEARCH GROUP, which was awarded as the first winner at the level of SCU, (2018-2019). - A member and group facilitator in the Mental Health Research Network of Egypt (MEHRN) (2020-2021). - REVIEWED many research papers (n= 15) for Digestive Diseases and Sciences, Springer (2019-2021); Molecular Neurobiology, Springer (2019), PSM Biological Research (2019), Journal of Physiology and Biochemistry (2020), Saudi Journal of Biological Sciences (2021) and others. I had the chance to Design the brochures and certificates of many events related to physiology. - FOUNDER of a Facebook group "Physiology Made Easy" to help medical and paramedical students everywhere (2015- till now). - FOUNDER of a Facebook group “FOMSCU Got Talent” to encourage the students talents. - Shimaa’ Objectives: As an ACADEMIC TEACHER: to improve methods of teaching medical physiology and methods of assessment for students based on the medical education guidelines. As a RESEARCHER: Conduction and international publication of high-quality multidisciplinary researches in cooperation with multidisciplinary scientific research teams.
