I am a researcher with experience of working in synthetic gene designing, molecular biology and recombinant DNA technology, genome editing and plant genetic engineering. I am an author of six research articles and inventor and author of five patents (filed). I received my Ph.D title in Plant Genetic Engineering for the thesis entitled “Studies in Development of Drought Tolerant Rice (Oryza sativa Indica) by Expression of RNA Chaperone Gene”. More specifically, the research work involved drought tolerance in rice through heterologous expression of synthetic Cold shock protein – B (cspB of Bacillus subtilis) codon optimized for rice and in silico identification of CSPB-like proteins in plants. I have 5-year experience of working on genome editing as a Senior Research Fellow (2-year) and Research Associate (3-year) for bacterial blight disease resistance in rice. My research interest lies in the area of genomics, gene editing and its applications in infectious disease diagnostics.
