I am Dr. Sunil Kumar Dhatwalia, a PhD in Medical Microbiology from PGIMER, Chandigarh, with over nine years of experience in research, diagnostics, and teaching in the field of infectious diseases, particularly tuberculosis (TB). My professional journey integrates expertise in molecular diagnostics, antimicrobial resistance, and evidence-based medicine, with a strong publication record in international peer-reviewed journals. Currently, I serve as a Consultant Microbiologist at the State Reference Laboratory for Tuberculosis, PGIMER Chandigarh, a BSL-3 facility. My work involves advanced diagnostic methods such as GenXpert (real-time PCR), Line Probe Assays, and culture-based drug susceptibility testing, along with EQA implementation, quality assurance, training, and research coordination. Previously, I worked as a Dr. D. S. Kothari Postdoctoral Fellow at Panjab University, Chandigarh, where I explored chemopreventive effects of natural compounds like white tea and boswellic acids against environmental carcinogens. I have also contributed to WHO-funded projects on childhood tuberculosis and obesity under the ICMR Centre for Evidence-Based Medicine, generating systematic reviews and policy-relevant reports. My key areas of expertise include: Molecular and conventional diagnostics of infectious diseases (TB, ) Research design, proposal development, and data interpretation Systematic reviews, meta-analyses, and scientific writing Mentoring and training of laboratory professionals Development and validation of diagnostic assays I have published 41 research papers, presented at national and international conferences, and served as an invited speaker and resource person for workshops on TB diagnostics and infectious disease control. I am passionate about applying my scientific expertise to collaborative projects in infectious disease research, diagnostic assay development, and biomedical data analysis, and I welcome opportunities to assist with research writing, literature reviews, and consultancy projects on Kolabtree
