プロフィール概要

Thien obtained his PhD in organic chemistry (University of Houston, TX, USA) in 2017 and his MSc degree in advanced spectroscopy in chemistry (ASC program, Helsinki University, FI) in 2011. Thien specializing in experimental organic chemistry has had seven-year hand-on experience in organic synthesis including experimentally mechanistic studies by intermediate isolation. One of the method developments for α-alkylation is published in Nature Chemistry (see the publication list). Thien started his independent career in 2018 and is actively researching on the structure elucidation of natural products using both experimental and computational NMR, the total and semi synthesis of natural products, and organic reaction mechanisms.
