I am a passionate and experienced environmental researcher with a marine/coastal focus. My broad research interests are in climate-related environmental change and marine environments. My past research has focused on sea-level changes and coastal evolution, sedimentology and geomorphology, (palaeo)ecological environmental proxies, quantitative biostratigraphy, geochronology, geographical information systems (GIS), geospatial analysis and geostatistics. I also have 4 years experience in environmental consultancy where I have been responsible for marine and estuarine monitoring and assessment including: Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs), Water Framework Directive (WFD) classifications and reporting (marine lead for nutrient and benthic invertebrate classifications), Marine Conservation Zone survey and reporting, water and sediment quality assessments, risk assessment, marine modelling and scientific communication, environmental restoration and habitat creation. I have extensive fieldwork experience designing ecological surveys in marine and terrestrial environments. Drawing on my research skills and expertise, I have additional experience working as a coastal processes research assistant as well as teaching a broad range of geography, geology and coastal science topics to undergraduate and postgraduate students. I offer a range of technical skills including , scientific writing (for all audiences), environmental reporting, ecological survey design, statistical analyses and programming ( R & Matlab), environmental modelling, data visualisation, digital communication (i.e. infographics and interactive data visualisations).
