My Master's degree is in Aerospace Engineering, a subject which is heavily based on Mechanical Engineering and whose principles are entirely transferrable to the Automotive and other related sectors. The practical aspects of Engineering are of great interest to me and through extensive machine shop experience and wider reading am aware of issues of manufacturability, and practical considerations that might not appear obvious in an idealised design environment. The research project for my Master's degree was the design and manufacture of a test rig for a scroll expander turbine, and that year I was also the Head of Aerodynamics for the university's Formula Student team, for which I designed and manufactured the wings for the car using a novel construction method in aluminium and carbon fibre. It is in out-of-the-box, creative and innovative design that I really excel. My previous work has been Automotive Engineering, working on Vehicle Dynamics and Development. In this role, I regularly designed and conducted experiments in the lab and on the test track in order to understand the behaviour of our vehicles and the accuracy of our mathematical and simulated models. I was also responsible for the analysis and communication of resulting data, as well as working on new theoretical models, suspension design. I also wrote a fully indexed and illustrated compendium of terminology, vehicle dynamics theory and its applications within the company of over 120 pages. I have a love of literature and language, and as a native English speaker, I am well placed to help with your writing, editing and proofreading needs, whether content generation and blogs, or hard-nosed technical and scientific writing.
