I am an immunologist with strong expertise in microbiota studies. I completed my PhD in Immunology in the laboratory of Prof. Jan Hendrik NIess, where I elucidated the role of CX3CR1 mononuclear phagocytes in a mouse model of intestinal inflammation. In 2014, I joined Dr Nally’s laboratory at the APC Microbiome Ireland, where I investigated the cellular and molecular mechanisms underpinning interaction of human gut symbiont with the host. My work to date has generated significant fundamental insights for our conceptualization of immunological tolerance. Throughout my career, I have contributed to 12 original articles, resulting in 295 citations.
