Started career as a Production Chemist with Asian Paints (I) Ltd. in 1992. Completed Ph.D. in Liquid Crystalline Polymers from Shivaji University, Kolhapur. Received fellowship from DST, New Delhi as JRF and SRF on a DST-sponsored project for three years. Started P.G. teaching in Shivaji University in the year 1996. Also taught U.G. classes in a Science College under Sardar Patel University, Gujarat. Joined MIT, Pune in 2001 as a Lecturer and presently working as a Professor. Thus having experience in - Industry, Research, and Teaching. Under the Young Scientist Scheme received a research fund of Rs. 9.00 lakh from DST on a major research project "Novel Liquid Crystalline Biomaterials". Published several research papers in National and International journals. Rendered guidance to an M. Phil. student. Also guided several UG and PG student's projects. Did consultancy work for a few industries. Set a Polymer Chemistry Research Laboratory in the institute from the funds received from DST. Have hands-on working experience in handling DSC, TGA, IR, and UV spectrophotometer. Presently a member Board of Studies in Chemical, Polymer and Petroleum Engineering, SPPU, Pune. Also a Member of Faculty in Chemical Engineering at SPPU, Pune. Also worked as a member of BOS for other University. Overall teaching experience of 25 years at UG as well as PG level. Active in various activities including serving as a member/convener on Institute committees, and to the development of the laboratory and curriculum. Delivered a few invited talks at some institutes. Worked as an examiner for many Universities. Recognized Ph.D. guide in Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, SPPU, and MIT-WPU. In-charge of committees such as Discipline, Cultural Activities, international tour coordinator, etc in the institute. Introduced a new post-graduate program, M.Sc. Industrial Polymer Chemistry at MIT World Peace University, Pune. Presently, Head of the Program - MSc Industrial Polymer Chemistry. Awarded by 'Ideal Teacher' award by MIT in 2011 and 'Best Teacher' award by SPPU, Pune in 2019. Specialties: Polymer modification and synthesis, polymer recycling.
