I am an experienced biomedical neuroscientist who now provides writing and editing services, with a particular focus on helping English-as-a-second-language (ESL) authors get their work ready for publishing. As a native English speaker, during PhD and post-doc positions in Germany and France I gained ample experience in helping colleagues develop, correct, and polish their manuscripts, from original articles to research grants and theses. Since early 2024, I have been working as an independent editor, providing writing services to ESL and native speakers from various disciplines, primarily biomedicine, clinical research, psychology, and sociology. After completing a BSc in Neuroscience and an MSc in Biomedical Sciences at the University of Glasgow, my doctoral thesis at the University of Freiburg, Germany focused on pre-clinical investigations of deep-brain stimulation for treatment-resistant depression. This was followed by a post-doctoral position at the University of Strasbourg, France, focusing on sleep and circadian aspects of mood disorders; this work recently resulted in a co-first-authored publication in Nature Communications. During my research career, I gained experience in molecular and cellular biology, animal behaviour, electrophysiology, sleep measurements, genetic manipulations, stereotactic surgery, stimulation methods, microscopy, and histology. I also have wide-ranging expertise in fundamental and biomedical neuroscience, and lead courses on these two topics as part of an interdisciplinary bachelor's degree programme at the University of Freiburg, Germany.
