My basic research experience is in tissue engineering in the neural application. I have experience in both in vitro and in vivo experiment design and with multiple neural primary cells, cell lines, and stem cells. I have experience writing grant proposals, standard operating procedures, process validation documents, manuscripts, book chapters, review articles, and equipment operating manuals. I am also a frequent reviewer for two journals. I am also interested in writing general articles about certain topics and do content editing. Below is a list of my technical expertise: Stem cell experience: isolation of human mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) from bone marrow aspirate and Wharton’s Jelly; handling and maintenance of research and GMP grade human MSCs; reprogramming and maintenance of induced pluripotent stem cell s(iPSCs); isolate of rat MSCs from bone; handling, maintenance, and osteogenic differentiation of rat MSCs; handling, maintenance, and neural differentiation of human neural progenitor cells (hNPCs, Lonza). Primary cell/cell line culture experience: adult Schwann cell and embryonic dorsal root ganglions (DRGs) isolation; handling and maintenance of PC12, rat embryonic DRGs and Schwann cells; neural differentiation of PC12. Laboratory techniques: electrospinning, cell viability assay (pico green, XTT, and MTT), biochemical assay (alkaline phosphatase test, calcium assay), immunocytochemistry, RNA isolation (in vitro), RT-PCR, ELISA (in vitro and in vivo), cryostat sectioning, paraffin sectioning, and immunohistochemistry. Equipment experience: nanoSight, microplate reader, flow cytometry, PCR machine, scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy, confocal microscopy (Nikon, Zeiss, Olympus), Instron (tensile testing), differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), thermally stimulated current (TSC), thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), ATR-FTIR, and X-ray diffraction.
